hey, i'm new here looking for some possible help..
about 9-10months ago my mother had a total hysterectomy (ovaries removed) at the age of 48, for alittle over a month she couldnt barely eat or drink because of nausia.
Then one day a month or so after the surgery out of the blue she was all the sudden in her own world very confused and she was making no sense, could barely talk or walk and didnt remember who anyone was or where she was.
I took her to the hospital and they did some scans and said it didnt look like there were any signs of stroke or anything so they had no answers for me and assumed she took too much meds, which was not the case.
to make a long story short they tried to stick her in a psych hospital so i brought her home and over time it slowly got better but in the beginning she would keep asking who we were, who her husband was, where her parents are (they died) i had to tell her that her parents were dead every day for about a month and each time it was like new news and she would cry..
anyways, its about 10 months later and shes shown alot of improvement.. she knows all our names and most things but she is still very off, not her self, very foggy/confused and her short term memory pretty bad still.. also she is not on hormone therapy..
this all seemed to be linked to the surgery some how and im wondering if anyone might possibly have some answers for me as to what happened and what is going on so that maybe i can get her some help.. she realizes she is off and broke down crying about it to me, i dont know where else to turn for help or an explanation..
thanks.
