I have not been using anything in my yard for years and one thing I noticed is that when it rains and the worms come out...I have tons of them and the neighbors who use chemicals have hardly any.
I do not use any chemicals because there is enough pollution in the environment
A few tricks for a good lawn
Cut your grass on the high setting of your mower. Tall grass grows deeper roots and needs less watering. Mow often with a sharp blade. Never cut more than 1 inch if possible.
Do not bag your grass clippings. Grass clippings make excellent natural fertilizer.
Water your lawn deeply but infrequently..this encouranges deep roots thus making your lawn more drought resistant.
