I was hoping to start a post where we can share stories of how our friends and family helped us both before and after the surgery. I know that before mine I asked my husband to go on this site and just look around so he could get an idea of what to expect-he said he was glad he did.
Anyway,
My husband took over all cooking, cleaning and laundry for the first 3 weeks after my surgery-I did nothing really and it was a great relief to me not to think of what needed done.
My children learned how to make me hot tea in the microwave and they would make it for me in the morning and then at night-which was relaxing and made them feel like they were really helping me in my recovery.
My mom came over for a couple weeks and also helped with the laundry and the cooking as well as some of the cleaning especially my bathroom which my husband really did not want to do. She also made me some of my favorites from childhood like hot butterscotch pudding.
But most important is they listened to me. for a few weeks before my surgery and for a few more after it was all that was on my mind and so it was almost all I talked about which I am sure got old real quick but they never let on instead just let me talk-it was great to feel like they cared and were listening (even if they werent) hehehe
I cant wait to hear your stories

he absolutely refused to allow me to load the clothes (which don't weigh much) nor pour in the soap/bleach. He took me to all of my doctor's appointments and waited patiently for me, he opens/closes doors for me, and best of all, he cooks (pretty good might I add). I appreciate everything he has done for me and I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful and caring man in my life!
