I have my date |
Lead | |
|
They have me scheduled for a full hysterectomy (sorry, forgot to check shortforms)...for March 27th. In this country, that's a quick date. Some people wait for up to a year for any kind of surgery. I have my pre-op on the 7th of March. I'm so excited!! Finally...my quality of life will be improved at last! Who needs a lottery...I just want my "old self" back along with some energy too. Hugs ladies.

I've learned lots and feel totally supported. Thanks for having this forum ladies. I look forward to journalling and sharing my story with you. I just hope I don't have to stay off the puter for long, lol...No cleaning, no work I can handle, but no computer? I might have to find a support group for that too.

Kim,
Make sure you keep yourself busy from now until your surgery. I scheduled mine about 40 days prior and by the time it got here, I thought I would go stir crazy. I was so anxious to get it over with. Read everything that you can and remember to ask every question you can think of. Believe me, it helps. Rhonda

Hi...It sounds like you have made the right decision and you are happy about it. I am glad you got a date sooner than later. do read as much of the pre-op links as you can and make a list of questions for your doctor, it helps so much to get everything answered and gain as much knowledge as you can before the surgery. I wish you all the best...keep us posted....

What a fantastic attitude! It really makes a big difference! You'll do just fine! Remember, the first 2 weeks are the most difficult! It really does get better after that! You'll notice improvements with each passing day! I'm just over 4 weeks post-op and notice each day how much better I feel! Amethyst

Thanks for asking...I was hemouraging for a few days, so I was tired when I got there. Asked a few questions and signed my waiver forms. I still have to go to the hospital for my real pre-op. Apparantly this was the Dr.'s pre-op, not mine, LOL Was home within 40 minutes of leaving my house.

Oh sweetie! I'm sorry! You rest up and take care! I know how tiring all that bleeding can be! I did that for 50 days straight! I didn't think there was going to be any blood left in me! LOL (And we were in CA for 2 weeks of it!)

I am scheduled for pro-op on the 8th of August.... I guess its usual not to have the surgery time set till the tenative date so not sure what time on the 9th. What is the average number of weeks for recovery at home before going back to work? I am 58 and should have done this a few years ago before it got so bad.
